Iphone file system where is music stored

Hondamaker Genius Gold. May 14, 9, 59 Fairborn, Ohio. I too would like to know what folder in windows the iTunes music is in, just to know. Thanks in advance. Hondamaker said:. Tinman Evangelist Gold. Jul 16, 4, 63 Aridzona. Oh well I meant which folder on the iPhone, not Windows.

To find out where any song in iTunes is located in Windows, you right click the song in iTunes and say "Get Info" and it will show you the path to find it.

Tinman said:. All the tracks synced from iTunes are renamed with random filenames. I assume the iPod app uses iTunesDB to reference the actual tracks. Do you think there's any kind of system to the file renaming or that it really is "random"?

I don't think it matters--if there is no entry in iTunesDB it won't be recognized by the iPod app on the iPhone. You can add music from the Files app, any cloud storage or even your computer. Documents also has a built-in browser so you can download your favorite songs from the web. Once you've got your favorite music, just tap a song to start playback. You can expand the music player to get more options. With Documents, you can shuffle and loop music tracks as well as change the playback speed.

Get Documents for free. To check the song queue, tap Next Track at the bottom of the player. Depending on how you imported items into Music, some items in your library might be stored in different locations for example, in another folder or on another storage device.

You can consolidate all the files in your library in the Music folder—for example, to make it easier to move your library to a new computer. When you add an item already on your computer to your library, Music places a copy of the file in your Music folder.

The original file remains in its current location. That setting will suffice though - thanks. Question: Q: How can I view the music stored on my iPhone? More Less. Communities Get Support. Sign in Sign in Sign in corporate. Browse Search.
